ANGAU TB DOTS Clinic configured for linked treatment and contact tracing records

The TB DOTS Clinic at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital, the referral site for Lae and Morobe Province, is mapped and configured in Moana, with go live at ANGAU expected in the coming weeks.
TB treatment runs for six months, and longer for drug resistant TB. Patients who miss doses must be followed up promptly. The clinic manages the full pathway: screening, registration, directly observed therapy, follow up review, contact tracing and treatment outcome.
One linked record
In Moana, each of those steps is held in one linked record. Rapid molecular test results reach the treatment card, with rifampicin resistance flagged for regimen review. Missed doses generate a daily follow up list for the clinic team. Household contacts are registered against the index case, identifying the children under five who require preventive therapy.

National indicators from routine documentation
Cohort reports are generated from the same record. Case notification, treatment success, case fatality, HIV status, HIV positive patients on ART, drug susceptibility testing and preventive therapy coverage are indicators in the National Health Plan 2021 to 2030 monitoring and evaluation framework. Each is derived from what the clinic records in routine care.
