Platform

MOANA Mobile puts the patient record at the bedside and in every patient’s hand.

MOANA Mobile brings the Moana record to the phone for three groups of users. Doctors run ward rounds, review results and place orders. Nurses record observations and administer medicines at the bedside. Patients book appointments with any linked Moana facility and see their own medications, vaccinations, referrals, results and documents.

Everything is written to the same record as MOANA Desktop.

For doctors, nurses and patients, with family members given access by the patient.

What it does

Ward rounds and bedside charting, and more.

  • Ward rounds on the phone

Doctors open to an acuity ranked worklist with vitals, allergies, pending items and the next action for every patient.

  • Critical results, wherever the doctor is

Critical laboratory alerts arrive with an AI generated triage summary and stay open until the doctor acknowledges them.

  • Risk analytics with clinician review

Clinical rules group patients by severity, and an AI generated summary sets out what needs attention. A clinician reviews every flag.

  • Orders, prescriptions and referrals

From the patient chart, doctors prescribe, order laboratory and imaging tests, refer, book follow up and request records from other facilities.

  • Electronic medication administration

Nurses work from each patient’s scheduled dose slots and record every dose as given, held or missed, with reasons and reactions.

  • Bedside observations

Vital signs, growth, intake and output are charted at the bedside and appear on the doctor’s worklist as soon as they are saved.

  • Booking with any linked facility

Patients choose a facility, department and clinician, then book in person or by telehealth.

  • Results and reports

Patients download laboratory and imaging reports once the clinician has released them.

  • Vaccinations, referrals and documents

Vaccination history with certificates, referrals and personal documents, kept with the patient’s record.

  • Offline on the ward

Charts, tasks and medication administration keep working when the signal drops, with a clear view of what is waiting to sync.

  • Self registration and family access

Patients register and link their record with a one time code, and can give family members access.

  • Role based access

Doctors, nurses and patients each see only what their role allows, on the same record as MOANA Desktop.

Overview

MOANA Mobile and Patient Portal

Care at the bedside, and the record in every patient’s pocket.

Care does not happen at a desk. It happens at the bedside, on the ward round, in the community and in the patient’s home. MOANA Mobile extends the Moana EHR to the places where decisions are made, without creating a second record or a separate system to reconcile.

For clinicians, the phone becomes a working clinical tool. Doctors open to their worklist, ranked by acuity, with critical laboratory results and an AI generated triage summary at the top. Clinical rules flag patients by severity, and every flag is reviewed by a clinician.

From the patient chart, doctors document, prescribe, order diagnostics, refer and request records from other facilities. Nurses work from each patient’s medication record, document every dose as given, held or missed, and complete tasks and handover by shift.

For patients, MOANA Mobile is their record in their own hands. A patient links their record with a one time code, books appointments with a doctor or nurse at any linked Moana facility, in person or by telehealth, and downloads their laboratory and imaging reports once they are released. Vaccination records, referrals and documents are kept in one place, and the patient decides which family members can see them.

MOANA Mobile is designed for unreliable connectivity. Charts, tasks and medication administration keep working when the signal drops, and the offline sync screen shows exactly what is waiting to be uploaded and when the device last synchronised.

How Moana works everywhere

Outcomes

What changes for your organisation.

  • Documentation at the point of care

Observations and doses are recorded as they happen rather than transcribed at the end of a shift.

  • Faster response to deterioration

Critical results and high risk patients reach the responsible doctor wherever they are.

  • Engaged patients

Patients book, follow their results and keep their vaccination record without calling the clinic.

  • One record across devices

Mobile and desktop share the same record, so nothing needs to be reconciled.
