ANGAU Catering and Dietary Services configured to order meals from the clinical record

Catering and Dietary Services at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital approached Moana after seeing the work with the clinical departments. The service is now mapped and configured in Moana, with go live at ANGAU expected in the coming weeks.
Nutrition as part of clinical care
A patient’s dietary requirements and allergies are part of the clinical record. When meals are ordered on paper, those requirements must be checked again at every meal round.
In Moana, Catering publishes the menu, and ward nurses order against the list of admitted patients, with dietary requirements and allergies carried from the clinical record. Catering receives consolidated orders by ward and by meal, and menus are versioned by Catering.
Stock and suppliers
Stock received and consumed is recorded against each service. Suppliers, purchase orders and deliveries are managed in the same system.
Reporting and billing
Reports cover meals by ward and period, consumption against stock, and cost per patient per day calculated from actual use. Billing is passed to hospital finance.
