ANGAU Blood Bank Unit configured for traceability from donor to recipient

The Blood Bank Unit of the Blood Transfusion Service at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital is mapped and configured in Moana, with go live at ANGAU expected in the coming weeks.
Every unit of blood passes through donor screening, grouping, infection testing, cross matching and issue before it reaches a patient. The unit reports monthly on every unit collected, transfused or discarded.
Traceability in both directions
Transfusion safety depends on a complete history for every unit. In Moana, donor, unit and recipient are linked from collection to transfusion, so any unit can be traced back to its donor and forward to the patient who received it.
Monthly reporting from the same record
The monthly report is drawn from the same data, so it does not need to be compiled separately at month end.
